Is there a maximum position size?
Yes. Each account size has a maximum number of contracts: 2 / 4 / 8 / 10 minis (20 / 40 / 80 / 100 micros) for $25K / $50K / $100K / $150K.

Yes. Every account has a maximum number of contracts you can hold open at once. It scales with the account size.
Max contracts by account size
| Account size | Minis | Micros |
|---|---|---|
| $25K | 2 | 20 |
| $50K | 4 | 40 |
| $100K | 8 | 80 |
| $150K | 10 | 100 |
How the limit works
- It applies to your total open position across all instruments at the same time, not per trade.
- One mini counts as 10 micros. You can mix minis and micros as long as the total stays within your limit.
- The limit is the same during a challenge, a Funded account and Fty Direct.
What happens if you exceed it
Orders above the limit are simply rejected by the platform. Going over the limit is not a breach and does not close your account — the extra contracts just will not fill.
Example on a $50K account
Your limit is 4 minis (or 40 micros). You could hold 2 ES minis and 20 MNQ micros at the same time (2 minis + 2 minis = 4). A fifth mini would be rejected until you reduce your position.
Tip
Position size is the single biggest driver of risk. Trading well below your maximum gives you more room against the Daily Loss Limit and Max Drawdown.
